Meet
Our Members
Meet the Miszkurkas Waldemar, Dianne, Krystian and Natalie have been attending Hills of Peace since soon after the family moved to Kamloops in 1994. While the younger members of the family have grown up in Hills of Peace their parents came to us through a series of moves and meetings in other parts of the globe. Dianne grew up in Guyana, the youngest of 10 children. She moved to Canada with her family in 1982. Waldi grew up in Poland, lived in the US for a couple of years, moved back to Poland then to Germany and moved to Canada via Germany in 1987. The two met and married in Ontario. They honeymooned in BC and moved here a year later. When they moved to Kamloops Dianne was given the job of finding a new church home for their family. She chose Hills of Peace because of its proximity and over the years have found it to be a caring family environment. Krystian was born in 1992 and is a French immersion student at South Kamloops Secondary school. Natalie was born in 1996 and is also a French immersion student. Natalie likes Sunday School at Hills of Peace and serving as an acolyte. Krystian also enjoys his role as acolyte, and as being a judge for Talent Night. They would like to see more activities for youth and their mother is actively involved in developing and promoting programs to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship for young people.
Meet Bruno Klingbeil A recognizable face and voice around Hills of Peace, Bruno has been a member of the Church since 1982. With his deep bass voice, Bruno has brought much to the services as both a cantor and member of the choir. Born in East Poland and raised in Saskatchewan, Bruno’s destiny according to his father was to be a Lutheran Pastor. Instead, Bruno joined the Airforce and served for twenty-seven years as an electronic warfare specialist. Following his retirement from the Airforce, Bruno, his wife Lyn and their two children Lois and Karl, moved to Kamloops, a city he and his family chose because of their love of fishing and outdoor activities. Here, he worked for Pemberton Securities as a broker until his retirement in 1988. In addition to singing in the Church choir, Bruno also sings in the Kamloops Choristers. He also enjoys curling, golfing and, of course, fishing. Bruno and Lyn recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. According to Bruno, “Hills of Peace is a good cross section of
very nice people who do a great job for the community and the parishioners.
I wouldn’t change a thing.”
