Outreach

Caring and Sharing
The caring and sharing group meets once a month to offer help to those in need in our community. Their activities include:

  • A freezer full of food - Extra baking, casseroles, soup, etc. left at the church by the congregation are delivered to those who may need it at a moment’s notice.
  • Saturday Soup Lunch - Once a month during the autumn and winter months.
  • Baby Layettes - A collection of baby supplies for new moms in the community.
  • Prayer Chain - We pray for all people who request it.
  • Grief and Healing Support Group - A new initiative facilitated by Val Theroux, Registered Nurse and Health and Grief Counselor. Open to all members of the community.

Divorce Care
“DivorceCare” is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. It offers valuable information in a scriptural context about ways to heal from the hurt of divorce.

Support for All Saints, Kelowna
We support this new mission congregation with prayers, materials and money (including Canadian Tire money!).

Thompson Rivers University Chaplaincy
Pastor Brian is on the TRU campus Wednesday afternoons and can be contacted at the Chaplaincy office (Old Main 1651, phone 828-5940).

Hospital Visitation
Our congregation co-ordinates Lutheran visitors at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. Each team visits once or twice a week only those patients who have identified themselves as Lutheran and who are open to a visit. Where appropriate or requested, referrals are made to Lutheran clergy.
