The spiritual growth of our membership is an important focus at Hills of Peace. Members of all ages, from preschoolers to adults are offered a number of means of exploring their faith.
Sermon Series
Occurs occasionally instead of the weekly sermon. Past series have used Reclaiming the "L" Word by Kelly Fryer and Opening the Bible by Robert Kysar. During these times, the sermon is replaced by an open forum whereby the entire congregation is engaged in discussion. These series offer an excellent opportunity to discuss and explore our faith. Watch for information on upcoming sermon series.
Children’s Sermon
A highlight of our services, while primarily aimed at the children, the children’s sermon has become a learning tool for us all. Discusses the scripture readings at a level more easily understood by our youth.
Sunday School
Hills
of Peace Sunday School allows the children of our congregation to
explore their faith in a classroom setting. Classes run each Sunday
during worship from September to the end of May. All children aged
three through grade six are welcome.
The Sunday School program
follows the church year and uses the readings in the service to help
the children to connect their faith with their daily living.
Confirmation
Generally
beginning when students enter seventh grade at school, confirmation
classes offer our youth the opportunity to explore their faith and take
responsibility for their own spiritual growth. Classes run from
September to Pentecost Sunday (late May or Early June).
Adult Education
Meeting
every Wednesday and Sunday morning, our adult education series explore
both individual books of the Bible and specific topics such as basic
questions like Who is God and Who is Jesus Christ.
