World Refugee Day
Pamela2019-06-06T17:57:57-07:00June 20th is World Refugee Day. 65 million people around the world are seeking refuge. Locally, at Hills of Peace, we seek to work together with our neighbours in faith through the community group, "Refugees and Friends Together" (RAFT) in support of the sponsorship to newcomers to our community. Within the next few months, RAFT is preparing to receive a new family. If you would like to volunteer to be part of a supporting "Settlement Team" for a term of one year (from the date of family's arrival), or have other interests in supporting refugee resettlement in Kamloops, please send an email to: raft@kamloopsunited.ca It is always important to remember in prayer newcomers, refugees, and internally displaced persons. As we recognize World Refugee Day, seek ways to be better informed about how to support the work of local, national, and international organizations who assist those who are most in need around the world.
