Adult Catechumenate

As adults, occasionally it is helpful to have a refresher series about Lutheran theology, faith practices, and “why we do what we do” together in worship.

Once or twice per year, as new members arrive in our community, a small group meets together. New attendees and long-time members of the congregation study our Lutheran history, sacramental practices, local expression of faith, and common experiences.

In a hospitable environment at the church or in someone’s home, we meet 4–6 times together.

Usually, at the end of these conversations, those seeking membership in the congregation would participate in the Affirmation of Faith rite during worship and become full members of our congregation.
