National Studies

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), our national church body, often asks for feedback from congregations when decisions are being made about our direction as a church. When seeking these responses, the national church offers study guides to congregations for their consideration in 4-to-6-week studies.

When a national study is made available, our congregation works to offer opportunities for engagement with the material.  In recent years, our congregation has engaged in these studies as they have been shared with our national church:

Called to Loving Relationships: A Study on Human Sexuality

Together for the World: A Study of Word and Sacrament Ministry

To Love Our Neighbours as Ourselves: A Study on Orders of Ministry. Other resources put forth by the Faith, Order, and Doctrine group are here.

Study Guide for Conversations on Medical Assistance in Dying (2016). Other resources for discussions about Decisions at the End of Life are here.
