Baptism

What is Baptism?
God’s gift of love is offered to each and every one in Holy Baptism. Every person of any age is welcomed to receive this gift of the Word through the Holy Spirit with water in baptism.
Lutheran Christians practice a Trinitarian baptism; baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
When do Baptisms Occur?
Baptisms usually occur during our public worship on Sunday mornings. Families with a child, or adult individuals, are invited to select sponsors (“godparents”) and celebrate God’s gifts, graciously offered through Word and water.
How Can I Arrange a Baptism?
Before a baptism, families or individuals would typically meet with our pastor for a conversation about baptism, and to review the baptism rite. No previous experience is required for baptisms.
